Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger Manufacturer Demo- Video

The in-vehicle battery charger, or BCDC, keeps the auxiliary battery charged whilst driving, ensuring your secondary battery is charged to a proven 100% no matter it's type or size. The BCDC1225D incorporates an MPPT solar regulator, allowing you to charge from solar panels and blankets, lessening the load on vehicle alternators. The DC charger uses a multistage charging profile to ensure auxiliary batteries are charged to 100% whereas a smart battery isolator will only top up the secondary battery as it focuses on the state of charge of the primary battery. In a dual battery setup where one battery is used as a starter battery to operate the vehicle and one as a secondary to run electrical devices, you need a BCDC. It offers greater flexibility for your dual battery setup not only in terms of correct charging for your specific battery, but also suitability for different alternator types, installation location and battery size.Many vehicles now have smart alternators which do not produce a high enough voltage to charge auxiliary batteries. Peak Performance Battery Chargers - Battery Charger - PKC0C100 Review- Video

Today we're going to take a look at the Peak Performance linear battery charger with the 100 amp engine start. Now, this battery charger and engine starter comes with the twelve volt vehicle jump start capability and it can also supply up to 100 amps of current during engine starting. Now, when the battery's fully charged, the battery charger current output will taper off and the battery charger will automatically shut off. If the battery's still attached to this when the battery's charge will drop, the charger will come on again, keeping the battery fully charged. Inside of this is a heavy duty transform and rectifier to provide solid dependability and it has built in circuit protection which will guard against any short circuits. It does also offer the reverse polarity protection meaning the charger will automatically check for correct polarity with a minimum of 4 volts DC at the battery terminals. They do use heavy duty cables and the nickel plated, steel clamps which are corrosion resistant for better connection. more

The unit is fully encased in rugged steel. Has this nice sturdy handle at the top that pops up, allows you to carry it around if you need be. more

Now, to begin our install we need to get our battery clamps onto the battery so go ahead and remove the battery cover. Now our negative terminal's already exposed. Go ahead and expose the positive battery terminal by removing the cap. Starting with the red positive battery terminal clamp, we'll put it on the positive battery terminal. Then our negative battery terminal clamp will go along to the negative battery terminal. more

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Powerhouse TC2 2-Amp Electric Trickle Charger, part number PH19216. This charger is set up for most 12-volt small batteries, similar to what you'd find in your lawn mower, snow blower, generator, or even commercial lawn equipment. When connected, it monitors the state of the battery to ensure optimum charging. It has an automatic shut-off when it's fully charged, and will even trigger a light that will go from red to green when fully charged. We have two large clamps that will fit most battery terminals.
